Brand new Pride bus chosen by local residents

Brighton& Hove Pride returns on Fri 1 – Sun 3 Aug, to again offer one of the city’sbiggest and friendliest events.

Tocelebrate, Brighton & Hove Buses have unveiled a brand-new Pride Bus,designed in partnership with Brighton & Hove Pride. With a livery chosen bylocal residents, the bus is aptly named after the late David Raven, who manywill fondly know as Maisie Trollette - a widely adored and influential stapleof the Brighton drag scene.

As inprevious years, the Brighton & Hove Buses diversity bus will be parked nearthe Peace Statue at the start of the parade and then go on to serve as one ofthe shuttle buses transporting people to the celebrations in Preston Park.

Visibility and support for diversity and inclusion are more importantthan ever, and I’m incredibly grateful for the continued partnership andcommitment from Brighton & Hove Buses. Their support plays a vital role inhelping us champion diversity and inclusion for all and ensuring pride iscelebrated all year round. I’m excited to see the winning design that willcapture the vibrancy, creativity, and joy of Brighton’s LGBTQ+ community andthe city itself. We can’t wait to see the bus on the streets of Brighton andSussex as we prepare for another fantastic Pride celebration this August."

 

Travel overPride Weekend

Withcelebrations taking place all over the city, Brighton & Hove Buses havealso launched special pride timetables for the weekend, with shuttle buses(routes 500 and 600) operating between Preston Park, Old Steine and WaterhallCampsite. The timetables have been put in place to help residents and visitorsget around and into the city and it is highly recommended that people plantheir journeys well in advance of the event.

Bus userscan also download the Brighton & Hove Buses travel app and get live businformation, service updates and the opportunity to purchase tickets, or usecontactless which is available on all of our buses.
