Canadian multi-instrumentalist to perform a series of intimate shows

Mark O'Donnell

Since releasing his debut record in the late ‘90s, Hawksley Workman has developed a truly inimitable approach to indie rock music, blending lush instrumentals with a quirky sense of personality and a penchant for cabaret. Along the way, he’s picked up gold records, some impressive production credits, and the loyalty of  countless fans across the world. This autumn, the Canadian artist returns to the UK for a run of dates, which includes shows in Brighton and London.

Hawksley Workman’s genre-defying music blends indie rock, folk, and alt-pop with a dash of whimsical theatricality. Known for his lush arrangements and deeply poetic lyrics, his sound is an unpredictable mix of haunting melodies, clever wordplay, and introspective storytelling. Workman has built a loyal following with albums that are both intimate and adventurous, embracing a spirit of experimentation while maintaining an undeniable emotional core.

With a voice that shifts between raw vulnerability and soaring falsetto, Workman continues to carve his own path in the indie world, winning awards and gold records while playing thousands of shows across the globe. Whether through lush orchestral arrangements or stripped-back acoustic ballads, his work has always felt personal and unapologetically authentic, earning him critical praise and a devoted fan base. Hawksley Workman continues to carve his own path, crafting music that feels timeless and deeply resonant.
