Jurassic World Rebirth

Weds 2 July

Will humans ever learn to leave things alone? Not this time…  Scarlett Johansson, Mahershala Ali, Jonathan Bailey, Rupert Friend, Manuel Garcia-Rulfo and Luna Blaise star in another outing of this epic action-adventure, all directed by Gareth Edwards (Monsters, Rogue One: A Star Wars Story).

Five years after the events of Jurassic World Dominion, the planet’s ecology has proven largely inhospitable to dinosaurs. Those remaining exist in isolated equatorial environments with climates resembling the one in which they once thrived. The three most colossal creatures across land, sea and air within that tropical biosphere hold, in their DNA, the key to a drug that will bring miraculous life-saving benefits to humankind.

Superman

Fri 11 July

“Is it a bird? Is it a plane?” No, it’s another reboot. While the DC Universe has had more than it’s fair share of fresh starts, we should remember that comics are constantly reinventing themselves. So we’re looking forward to this new version of the world’s most recognisable superhero. You must surely know the deal by now. A refugee child comes to Earth after their planet is destroyed. Discovering that he has incredible new powers, he dedicates his life to serving humanity.

This time around, David Corenswet stars as “Man of Steel”. We track his struggles to reconcile his alien heritage with his human upbringing. This is all set against an old-fashioned world where truth, justice and humanity are being challenged. Realising he could make a difference, he decides to take a stand.

I Know What You Did Last Summer

Fri 18 July

I can’t even remember what I did for Christmas, so this is all reasonably reassuring. Part fourth instalment and part reboot, this new episode sees five friends inadvertently cause a deadly car accident. They cover up any trace of their involvement and make a pact to keep it a secret rather than face the consequences.

One year later, the past comes back to haunt them as they learn someone knows what they did last summer. Stalked by a mysterious killer, they soon seek help from two survivors of the legendary Southport massacre of 1997.

Smurfs

Fri 18 July

all-star cast, including Rihanna, James Corden, Nick Offerman, JP Karliak, Daniel Levy, Amy Sedaris, Natasha Lyonne, Sandra Oh, Octavia Spencer, Nick Kroll, Hannah Waddingham, Alex Winter, Maya Erskine, Kurt Russell and John Goodman, voice this new adventure for everyone’s favourite woodland folk.

When Papa Smurf (Goodman) is mysteriously taken by evil wizards, Razamel and Gargamel, Smurfette (Rihanna) leads the Smurfs on a mission into the real world to save him. With the help of some new friends, the Smurfs must discover what defines their destiny to save the universe.

The Bad Guys 2

Fri 25 July

Who’s badder than The Bad Guys? The Bad Girls. Zazie Beetz, Marc Maron, Richard Ayoade, Lilly Singh, Alex Borstein, Awkwafina, Sam Rockwell, Craig Robinson, and Anthony Ramos voice a new chapter of this action-comedy.  The Bad Guys were a crackerjack criminal crew of animal outlaws. Now they’re struggling to find trust and acceptance in their new lives as good guys.

Based on the best-selling book series by Aaron Blabey, this new animated adventure sees our heroes pulled out of retirement and forced to do “one last job” by an all-female squad of felons. Can dashing pickpocket Mr Wolf, Mr Snake the safe-cracker, master-of-disguise Mr Shark, the short-fused Mr. Piranha and expert hacker Ms. Tarantula get through all this unscathed?

The Fantastic Four: First Steps

Fri 25 July

“Marvel's First Family” finally makes their debut in the MCU, in what looks set to be the superhero event of the summer. The action has a distinctly atom-pink feel, as the Richards family goes about their business in a reality styled like the 1950s. Plenty is resting on this instalment, after a couple of uneven releases. Following his triumph on Wandavision, Matt Shakman (It's Always Sunny In Philadelphia, Fargo, Game Of Thrones) has been drafted in for directorial duties, while Pedro Pascal plays the family’s bendy and brainy patriarch.

After an experiment goes horribly wrong, an unconventional family of scientists is given extraordinary powers. Which is just as well, because Earth is about to be visited by the Silver Surfer. He’s the herald for a planet-devouring being of completely imaginable evil. Can our plucky powered pals run, jump and punch enough to save the day?

The Home

Fri 25 July

Pete Davidson, John Glover and Bruce Altman star in this horror thriller from the creator of The Purge.  Almost guaranteed to be keeping you up at night, the story concerns itself with a rebellious twentysomething who is sentenced to community service.

It’s soon established that he’ll be repaying his dues to society at a quiet retirement home, but not everything is as it seems. The residents on the fourth floor are kept strictly off-limits because they, apparently, require “special care.” As the young man’s suspicions grow and he digs deeper, he uncovers a chilling secret that puts both residents’ lives and his own in grave danger.
